Everybody in the world is made by God. He knows every detail of our lives and he loves us. Because God is our creator, he is everybody’s Father in this respect- but our sins have separated us from him and we are no longer part of his family. He longs for us to return to him and become his children again. THis is what happens when you become a Christian.
John 1:6-13 Who is the light of the world?
(also see John 8:12)What have most of the people in the world done with Jesus?
They did not (v 10)
They did not (v 11)
What two things must you do to become a child of God (v 12)?
When we become God's children, we are born of (v 13)
This is sometimes called being 'born again'; it is another way of saying that we have become Christians.
John 3:1-7 What can we do when we are born again?
New life - New start
Being born again is starting a new life with God. When a baby is born it needs to grow, learn, get to know its parents and become part of a family. As a 'newborn' Christian, you will need to grow, learn, get to know your heavenly Father and become part of your new family.

Part of God's plan
Although you decided to become a Christian, it may surprise you to learn that it was all part of God's plan, Since God can see into the past and the future, he has no surprises! He sees you from life from beginning to end- he knows you very well (psalm 139: v 13-16). What is more, since you have returned to your father, he can now help to find his plan and purpose for your life, God can help and guide you with your career, your marriage-every part of your life, as you invite him in.

Getting to know your Father
You can find out a lot about God by reading the bible, meeting with other Christians, reading Christians books or listening to tapes, but you need to cultivate your own relationship with God. To do this you need to talk to him (pray), tell him that you love him and share your life with him-you will soon find that he is very real to you.
John 14:23-24 How else can we show our love for God and get to know him?
A good father looks after his children

Now you are a child of God, you can live your life with confidence in the care of your heavenly Father. You will have problems and difficulties, but you will find that father can help you through them.
